Synergy is the creation of a whole, which is greater than the sum of its parts. Synergy embodies the working process of ITSA Collective.
Having graduated from GMIT’s Centre for Creative Arts and Media in June 2014, ITSA Collective are displaying a new body of work which was created during their six month internship with 126. The exhibition marks the end of their internship, which provided them with an invaluable insight into the local, national and international art community, while also allowing for continued creative practice. Accompanying the new body of work ITSA Collective will also be presenting their first publication, which both represents ITSA’s interest in interdisciplinary practice and allows for an engagement with the exhibition that will transcend the four walls of the gallery.
Copies of the limited edition publication will be available in 126.
There will be a Q & A event on Saturday the 13th of December between the members of ITSA Collective from 2pm. ITSA will discuss their work in the publication with each other and the general public.
ITSA Collective originated in a series of student led talks at the Centre for Creative Arts and Media (CCAM), GMIT in 2013. This led to the curation of a series of impromptu guerrilla exhibitions in the art college, with work comprising of talk members and the wider student body. In 2014 the group established an artist’s collective upon realising the value of shared knowledge and activity.
The exhibition is open from Friday the 5th of December and runs until Saturday the 20th.
