Time After Time
by Cliodhna Timoney & Paddy Joe Rickard | 23rd November – 9th December 2018
Time After Time offers a portrayal of the artist’s studio and the quotidian processes that occur within. Rickard and Timoney provide a situation where the audience can participate in the processes of looking viewing, assembling, rejecting and thinking. Presenting the terra incognita of their practice, the exhibition invites the viewer into a customarily private space. Here Rickard and Timoney have staged a studio that gathers their common interests in line, colour, materiality, form. Time after Time is grounded in a trove of references borrowed from pop culture, craft and art history. The combinations are homogenous and repetitive in display, a conglomeration of overlapping ideas, systems and conversations.

Cliodhna Timoney is an artist currently based in London. Using familiar imagery, materials, objects and forms, Timoney removes their function, deliberately misconstrues and intentionally distorts their character in an attempt to examine communication and sensibility. Chancing failure and accidents, she intuitively allows the works to take on transitory, provisional and awkward states. Timoney graduated from IADT’s Visual Arts Practice with a first class honours in 2015. She is currently undertaking an MFA at The Slade School of Fine Art. Recent Exhibitions include Whoops, Solo exhibition, Triskel Arts Centre, Cork (2018), Tatty Green Lampshade, Solo Exhibition, Eight Gallery, Dublin (2018), all shimmers here, The MART (2016), Very Good Waves Now, Catalyst Arts, Belfast (2016), A Knowing Nature, The Dock, Carrick-On Shannon (2016), IADT Graduate Exhibition, Dun Laoghaire (2015), The Beholder’s Share, IMMA, Dublin(2015).
