12 July - 26 July

Overview

126 Artist – Run Gallery & Studios proudly presents Brass Waterbed, a solo exhibition by Tadhg Ó Cuirrín as part of Galway International Arts Festival 2026.

Brass Waterbed begins as a reconstruction, from memory, of every bedroom the artist has ever lived in. Taking the form of a two-channel video installation, the work is haunted by questions of memory, housing, and what representation can and cannot hold. However convincing the likeness, something always escapes it – a faithful representation often reveals little. Here autobiography functions as a demeanour. A social form rather than a truthful one. The work is less interested in the self than in the structures that ask for it.

Tadhg Ó Cuirrín is a visual artist based in Galway, working across painting and digital media. He has exhibited widely, with solo exhibitions at Pallas Projects/Studios, Ormston House, and TULCA Festival of Visual Art in Galway. His work is supported by Ealaín na Gaeltachta.

Exhibition Launch: Sunday 12th July at 5pm.
