CULTURE NIGHT – Tulach by Sandra Corrigan Breathnach
You are warmly invited to view Tulach by Sandra Corrigan Breathnach on Culture Night, Friday the 18th of September at 6pm.
Tulach is a performance that will be created for Culture Night, at 126, by the renowned artist Sandra Corrigan Breathnach. This performance will be created through a unique format, where artists who have been selected through an open-call process to participate in Corrigan Breathnach’s preceding performance workshop, will be given the opportunity to perform in, Corrigan Breathnach’s performance Tulach.
The performance Tulach, will look at the wonder of our existence, the cyclical nature of life and death, drawing on our past, our present and looking towards future ways of being within this world.
Participating artists include Ana Aguilar Strada, Marie Bryan, Eilísh (Liz Curran), Marie-Chantal Hamrock, Maria May and Macha Shewolf.
Sandra Corrigan Breathnach has performed and exhibited both nationally and internationally , most notably in the Guggenheim, Bilbao in 2025, as part of the MEM Festival in partnership with the Guggenheim Museum TopARTE programme.
On Saturday the 19th of September at 2pm workshop participants will be showcasing workshop outcome performances at 126 Artist-Run Gallery.

Ana Aguilar Strada
Ana Aguilar Estrada is an Irish-Salvadoran multidisciplinary creative practitioner and maker based in Tuam, County Galway. Ana is a storyteller, performer, writer, director and producer of her own performances and stories, puppeteer, arts facilitator, and drama teacher with a passion for creating engaging experiences for children or adults with or without disabilities.
Marie Bryan
Marie Bryan is a VAI professional painter and student of sculpture and film at ATU Galway. Her short film ‘Meet me on a Rock’, which she directed and performed in, has won almost 40 awards at international film festivals including Best Actress.
Eilísh (Liz Curran)
Eilísh is a visual artist, writer, musician and performance artist dealing with language as a broad investigation of intuitive expression. Works span from painting to poetry entailing performative advances in song and spoken word.
Marie-Chantal Hamrock
Marie-Chantal Hamrock is an Irish visual artist and writer based in Aberdeen, Scotland. Blurring the line between the real and the imagined, Marie-Chantal’s work explores themes such as gender, social class and peripherality, to create speculative narratives of past, present and future.
Maria May
Maria May is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in the West of Ireland. Hailing from a small windswept Swedish Island in the middle of the Baltic Sea, May has carried a curiosity about where we belong in the greater web of life since childhood. Her practice is shaped by the elements, place, memory and interconnection.
Macha Shewolf
Macha Shewolf is a neurodivergent, queer, multi-disciplinary visionary ritual artist based in and from Cork. Their practice bridges performance, sound and film. Their artistic concerns lie with radical and eco-feminism, indigeneity, ecology and the obvious concern that dismembers all of the above – Capitalism and Colonialism.
