Overview
Lost in Reverie is an exhibition featuring works by artists Hermione Ruffles, Ivy Borden, Renske Boef, Sarah Deane, Síofre Egan, and Tanya Chakálova.
This group exhibition explores themes of nostalgia, escapism, loss, and memory. Each artist draws on their unique histories and perspectives to engage with both personal and collective experiences of grief, displacement, and loss. The various works deal with memory as unfixed and continuously renegotiated.
Through various mediums this exhibition asks the viewer to consider how memory, nostalgia, and the urge to escape reality shape our ways of relating to each other and our conceptions of home, particularly at a time in which algorithms and mass media cause events to feel increasingly stripped of chronology and consequence. The artists respond by taking time to slow down and prioritise connections to humans and the natural world.
